Especially in procurement.

Iโ€™m seeing more and more of the same recycled posts, AI-generated comments, copy-and-paste thought leadership, and, letโ€™s call it what it is, straight-up plagiarism.

Itโ€™s disheartening.

Because for many of us, creating content on here isnโ€™t just about visibility, itโ€™s an outlet.

A way to give voice to our profession.

A way to share what weโ€™re learning.

A way to challenge bad practice, celebrate good practice, build our networks, and show that procurement is far more than POs and policies.

But authentic content takes effort.

It takes thought, lived experience, and being willing to say something with a bit of depth, even if it doesnโ€™t fit neatly into a 6-line viral template with a dramatic one-word sentence every other line.

And thatโ€™s why I want to give a shout-out to some brilliant, genuine voices in and around the procurement space.

People who are putting their own stamp on things and who are helping make this profession more visible, more human, and more valuable. ๐Ÿ’ช

Give these people a follow, a view, a like, or even better, get involved in the comments:

Mark B. Logan, - Great guy, public procurement professional and creates fun content.

Gary Salterpicco - Very much a human-first procurement pro.

Rebecca Bellairs - Marketing procurement pro

Fred Copestake - Master of orange hats, and a sales guy who can talk to procurement.

Oh, and Tom Mills & Tanya W. - no intro needed, the OGs.

The platform doesnโ€™t need more bots.

It doesnโ€™t need more empty โ€œgreat post!โ€ comments.

It doesnโ€™t need more beige thought leadership wearing a fake moustache and calling itself original.

It needs more people with actual views.

More nuance, lived experience, professional honesty.

So hereโ€™s my small ask: Give authenticity a chance.

  1. Read the longer post.

  2. Back the creator whoโ€™s clearly put thought into what theyโ€™re saying.

  3. Engage with content that has a bit of meat on the bone.

And please, for the love of all things procurement, donโ€™t give in to the bots, the clickbait, and the LinkedIn karaoke.

Original voices matter, so letโ€™s make sure theyโ€™re heard.
