𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟯 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽!!!
Well Mark B. Logan, MPA, NIGP-CPP, CPPO, C.P.M., CPPB, A.P.P. has done it once again.....poked my brain and forced me to respond to his latest video posted on his YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/gTuWCAfK
Mark does a great job of preparing folks for conferences (especially those attending NIGP's Forum in Columbus this year) with three main points:
HAVE A GAME PLAN - expanding on Mark's discussion on choosing which session to attend (especially when there's three to four that all appeal to you but featured at the same time), I suggest you choose a session in which engagement in person is key - one that you might be wanting to ask questions - watch the rest later but don't miss an opportunity to ask questions or even be the one to offer an idea/story that creates an "Aha moment" for others.
✅ BUILD RELATIONSHIPS... but strategically! - Mark talked about sitting with different people each time and ask questions - expand and do the same with vendors. I encourage you to ask them "what's one question you wish conference attendees would ask" and I garantee you'll be surprised at their responses!
✅ Identify 2–3 actionable "GEMS of WISDOM" - I suggest you be present and be active in the moment but capture those elements you need to either follow up on/implement when you get home or write a note on the back of a supplier's business card something you need to ask about when you get back home. You'll have so much information coming your way that if you don't capture that thought/idea/solution immediately, it's a vapor and gone forever.
Great job Mark and enjoy watching his video as you prepare!
